It has been a busy morning for insurance news related articles. It has been reported that the most expensive accidental damage car insurance claim has been made by the one and only Rowan Atkinson, he of Mr Bean fame (you couldn’t make it up!) he is a well know car enthusiast and was unfortunate enough to damage his McLaren F1 three seat sports car, the repair bill costing £900,000 odd and a year in repair. These vehicles fetch far more and this amount did not render the vehicle beyond economical repair. Of course this would not be any “cheap insurance policy” and would be dwarfed by total claims payments to third parties where injuries occur and where in one instance a few years back a Land Rover caused two trains to derail causing extensive casualties and damages.
Separately a van managed to end up resting the rear at 45 degrees against a building in Newquay today, as pictured in the London edition of Metro 8th February 2013. The driver escaped unharmed but will have an interesting dinner party story for ever!
