Learner Insurance

Short-term insurance for learnder drivers. The only level of cover available is full comprehensive with the option of a one month, two month or a three month policy. The primary function of a learner insurance policy is to allow a provisional licence holder to learn to drive in their parents or a friend’s car that already has a motor insurance cover in place.

If there is a claim whilst the learner driver is driving the vehicle, the claim will be be dealt by the learner drivers insurance policy, not the parents car insurers.

A condition of the learner insurance policy is that the learner driver must be accompanied by a driver that is over 25 years of age and must hold a current full UK licence for at least three years. The driver accompanying the provisional licence holder does not need to be the owner of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT: There will be no cover in force from the date and time you pass your driving test. Please ensure that you have adequate motor insurance in place before using any vehicle on a public highway.
